celery experiment

For my experiment  I put celery in a cup of water  with food coloring in it! I had four celeries and every two hours I would take one out. I was testing to see how long it took for the water to rise up to the celery. I kept each celery the same as much as possible. Each cup had the same amount of drops of food coloring and the same amount of water. Each celery was cut to the same length and had leaves on top. The only variable in the experiment was the length of time that they soaked. My question: how long will the liquid travel every two hours?

The first celery that I took out after two hours, the liquid only
 went up to one centimeter.

The second celery that I took out after four hours, the liquid went up to four centimeters.

The third celery that I took out after six hours went up to six centimeters.
The fourth celery that I took out after eight hours went up nine centimeters.

My conclusion: The liquid travels up the celery stalk on average one inch every hour.

India

I have been learning about India this week. I looked up pictures of the Taj Mahal and compared  them to pictures of  other muslim buildings. The similarities I  found were that they all have domes, spirals, and archways.

The basic Hindu religion is that they just think there's an all- encompassing  force. They personify this force into individual gods or goddesses. The force can never be fully understood, but personifying it into gods helps the people unify themselves with it more.
Shiva
Vishnu
Three most popular gods are:

Devi/Parvati
Shiva  known as the Creator and Destroyer. He destroys the old while bringing out the new.

Vishnu  known as the Preserver.

Devi known as the Protecting Mother, and is the creative energy of the universe.

Dress styles of Queen Elizabeth's time

Here is a picture that I drew of the type of dresses women wore back in Queen Elizabeth's time. I think it would have been neat to have a dress like that. The sleeves were long and the dresses went down to your feet. The collars were tall and wide often made of stiff lace.

Huguenot History

                                                          Huguenots

The Huguenots were French protestants that followed the teachings of John Calvin instead of Martin Luther. Later they were forced to leave France because of their religious beliefs. Most protestants went to other countries, but some stayed practicing their religious beliefs in secret.
Martin Luther started the change of religion for the protestants in Germany 1517. It spread to France, mainly having effect on those angry with the order of the government. The War of Religions started in 1562 when 1200 Huguenots were killed. In 1598 Henry IV gave the Huguenots their own church.
